Starting point of the new direction with texture hair cap, man does that hide so much. ( Now all I need to it find a good balance between the two )

The image for me that cemented the requirement for textured scale cap for product direction.

I am really looking forward to getting some more creative images done but I am fixated at the moment.

Due to my stubbornness two main things have happened.
One: If I had taken the textured hair cap approach I would have been much further along.
Two: Because I didn't, I have a greater feel for the generating of ZBrush Fiber Mesh.
Always pros and cons.

In short, I can clearly see that the textured hair cap is the only viable option at the moment. To those who offered your feedback, thank you once again...very much appreciated.

I didn't save any of the files from this test other than the UV'd Hair Cap.

Time to start a new...with direction this time.

Software used:

DAZ Studio 4.6  / Octane 1.5  / Photoshop CS6 ( Comp Only) / ZBrush 4R6 ( Hair + Cap + Cap Texture ) / Hexagon ( for some earlier Cap Expansion )

LI Genesis 2 Male Skull Cap by Laticis
LI Genesis 2 Male Skull Cap
A cap has always been part of my Zbrush / DS FiberMesh Hair direction, but thanks to some feedback ( thanks guys ) it is now essential to have one with a texture map.

There will be a render on show tomorrow that really showed me I have no choice but to take this route. ( I tried to fight it )
ZB 200 Max Fibers ( 400,000 ) polys - Short Hair and the scalp is still too visible for my liking.

Software used:

DAZ Studio 4.6  / ZBrush 4R6 /  Photoshop CS6

Happy New Year

I wish you and your families all the very best for 2014, let it be one full of love and joy.

A big thank you to those who have been watching your support, comments and laughs have been wonderful :)
DeviantArt is a place of great inspiration of which I am proud to be a part of.

Three of my favourite comments to start the year off:

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour. " - William Blake

"You have all the weapons you need. Now fight." - MOVIE: SuckerPunch

"Choose your addictions wisely." - Adriano Di Pierro :)

All the best for the following year, may your hopes and dreams come into being.

Cheers Laticis

You're most welcome! I only wish I had had the time and patience to learn digital art when it first started. The realism of it just keeps getting better all the time ;)

I know that feeling very well, I have been at it since 2007 and I feel like I am behind the eight ball.

Its never too late though ;)

your work is amazing! I'd love to get into 3D modeling and art, but there's so much out there. Can you recommend a good beginner's site?

Thanks heaps Kathie :)

There is a bucket load and very daunting it can be.

First things first...do you want to create art or do you want to model, yes you can do both but I would recommend focusing on one, the rest will follow after that.

A beginner's site is also a tough one, a lot will depend on which software you would like to tackle.

Very happy to discuss this in much more detail, send me a PM if you like.
